== Abstract ==
Describes a system designed for public use as an “edutainment” system. It allows a user to direct the evolution of three‐dimensional shapes as a form of interactive art. The objects under evolution are defined by artificial DNA, which ultimately defines their final form and characteristics through an intermediate growth phase using interacting chemical reactions. The forms are part of a small population and the fitness is entirely defined by the user. The evolution continues and allows the user to design objects interactively or simply to explore the range of possible forms of the system.
