		+	Zusammen mit [[Stephen Todd]] hat Latham Ansätze zur Evolutionären Kunst mit einem organischen 3D-Formenrepertoire entwickelt. Dabei werden Basisorganismen durch interaktive evolutionäre Prozesse, d.h. mit einem Genetischen Algorithmus und unter den subjektiven Selektionsentscheidungen der Künstler, zu immer komplexeren organisch wirkenden Formen entwickelt. Durch diese Arbeiten wurden Latham und Todd Ende der 1980er Jahre zu den Gründungsväter der Evolutionären Kunst. Das Buch [[Evolutionary Art and Computers]], welches diese Forschungen beschreibt, gilt auch heute noch zu den Standardwerken über Evolutionäre Kunst.
