He received the degrees of Bachelor and Master from Kyushu Institute of Design in 1979 and 1981, and the degree of Doctor of Engineering from Toyohashi University of Technology in 1991

RESEARCH INTEREST

He is interested in computational intelligence. Especially, he in interested in cooperative technology of neural networks, fuzzy systems, evolutionary computation.. and human. Humanized Computational Intelligence is what he is focusing now.

Main research topic is Interactive Evolutionary Computation (IEC). Most his publications in these two decades relate to the IEC. He worked in the areas of signal processing, speech recognition, and software engineering in 1980s.
