Steve DiPaola ist ein Kognitionswissenschaftler, Künstler und Wissenschaftler mit den Forschungsschwerpunkten Künstlische Intelligenz, Interaktion und Computergrafik. Er ist Direktor des Kognitionswissenschaftlichen Programmes an der Simon Fraser University (Vancouver, Canada) und Associate Professor an der School of Interactive Arts and Technology, einer interdisziplinären Forschungs- und Ausbildungseinrichtung für computerunterstützte Kunst und Wissenschaft.
